As official Sponsor and Organizer for this event, Phoenix Art Workshop has been directly involved with the art community in the lower mainland for the past 12 years.

We have facilitated international art excursions; both youth and adult education; spearheading several community public art projects, as well as official sponsor of the 2001 Tall Ship Artist’s Market and numerous Public Art events.

This year Phoenix Art Workshop was awarded the City of Richmond’s “Business and the Arts Award” for our contribution to arts and culture.

For the past six years Phoenix Art Workshop has been promoting plein air painting leading exotic international painting excursions to destinations such as Cuba, Guatemala, China, Spain, Vietnam and Cambodia with plans to visit Bali, Malta, Italy and Columbia in the near future … ” It feels wonderful to be promoting Plein Air, literally in my back yard at Britannia Heritage Shipyards – a stone’s throw from my door step”.

The Phoenix Art Workshop is a privately run visual arts centre with art classes for young people and adults emphasizing visual literacy, design, individual creativity and interests. Our focus is largely centered on painting and drawing mediums although you may be interested in having a look at our Community Art page to get a feel for what we are really about. A community -based resource for art supplies, custom framing, and education.
